'...the head seemed to be completely neglected within his chosen profession. '
Indian Head Massage springs from a rich tradition of family grooming, and has been practiced for thousands of years, encouraging the body’s natural healing abilities.
Narenda Mehta had grown up with head massage as an integral part of his life, just as other Indian family members did. In the 70s, when he came to
England to train as a physical therapist, he was dismayed to find that not only head massage was not generally available, but that the head seemed to be completely neglected within his chosen profession. After he returned to
India to study intensively with the leading exponents of this ancient art, he eventually developed the framework of traditional head massage for the modern day.
